As the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg is a college town with a unique style and flavor. Located in Montgomery County, Blacksburg has a somewhat limited selection of wedding locations and reception facilities. Although it is an exceptionally nice place to live, you may have to expand your wedding venue search into some of the surrounding areas to find a wider selection of professional wedding facilities. The area does contain alot of very nice outdoor wedding sites and it also includes a number of businesses that do cater to weddings.
If you are a student at Virginia Tech, you can contact the University to get more assistance. Other options in the area, that may not be listed here, include some of the local men's clubs like the Key Club and some of the restaurants and lodges. Although these are not wedding-focused businesses, they frequently offer rooms for special events such as weddings and receptions. You may also choose to have a civil ceremony or higre an officiant to come to your wedding location to perform the ceremony. The good news is that the area does have a good selection of wedding photographers. You may consider checking the University for this wedding resource also.
